Feeds - keep updated

If you are in the media you may know about web feeds, or RSS (Really Simple Syndication), already. Major newspapers and broadcasters such as the BBC, Times, Telegraph, Guardian and the Independent all make news and editorial content available through this style of online delivery.

While those feeds are for readers and viewers, journalists can also make use of the technology to order the mass of information coming at them on a daily basis. For example, RSS is a great way to deal with press releases. You can skim through a hundred releases this way in the time it takes to process half a dozen emails.

That's why we offer our latest news from these pages as an RSS feed. You can subscribe to this feed through one of the online feed readers such as Bloglines or in an add-on for your email programme such as Microsoft's Outlook. The BBC explains more here.
